Welcome to participants from the Seminar Organising Committee. The Seminar Organising Committee warmly welcomes participants in the Seminar on the Juche Idea to be held in London on March 23rd 1985. A provisional time-table for this all-day event, which will be followed by a Reception in the evening, is being drawn up and details will be forwarded shortly. Participants who are presenting papers on the occasion are requested to keep the Organising Committee informed of their preparations. We strongly encourage all participants to present at least a brief statement. A major theme of the Seminar will be the concept of Chajusong/independence as applied to the independence of anti-imperialist organisations operating in the imperialist heartlands. We have in our correspondence with many participants developed discussions on this question. Drawing on the experience of Mosquito Press as an independent anti-imperialist propaganda organisation, we have pointed out that those anti-imperialist organisa- tions which most resolutely uphold their Chajusong/independence and resist incorporation into the opportunist and factionalist 'left' establishment are precisely those which achieve the deepest understanding of the oppressed communities they lead; they are thus able to put forward the most informed and constructive policies to release the creativity and initiative of the masses and thus enhance the role of the masses as masters of revolution. The Juche Idea upholds precisely this concept of Chajusong/independence as the central political, ideological and indeed philosophical concept for anti-imperialists in the current epoch. We thushope the Seminar will provide constructive and valuable opportunity for anti-imperialist organisations to discuss the vanguard experience of the Korean and other revolutions in the struggle for Chajusong. We include in this bulletin some relevant quotations from the Seminar's basic text on precisely this question of building revolutionary anti-imperialist organisations independently under the banner of Chajusong. We look forward to developing discussions with Seminar participants during the coming weeks.
