Scope and content

Circular from the Organising Committee. 1. We are extremely grateful to those participants who have already begun to discuss with us their Seminar papers or messages; some have already sent in draft texts. Many thanks to these participants. Those who prefer just to listen are welcome, but we strongly encourage all participants to prepare at least a brief contribution. We hope that our selected quotations from Korea's leaders and from James Connolly and Black Power spokesmen will provide useful material for participants preparing such contributions. 2. Those who are unable to attend the Seminar but who have expressed interest and are still on the mailing list are requested to send written messages or Seminar papers all the same, for publication in the proceedings. 3. The ideal length is around 500 words, but if participants have much shorter or longer contributions, do send/deliver them anyway. 4. We hope that all participants can have at least one discussion with us prior to the Seminar, to discuss their paper, either through visiting one of us or, for non-London participants, on the phone or by letter. 5. Should any participant have to cancel their attendance, do in any case still conduct such a discussion with us, and send us a text of a message for publication in the proceedings. 6. Would participants please give some thought to the question of publishing the proceedings, and let us know whether they want to be listed by name, or organisa- tion, or both, or anonymously. 7. We now have quite a list of participants coming from outside London. Could these participants please all notify us as quickly as possible whether or not they want us to arrange accommodation for them. 8. Could participants living in London please let us know if they can put up participants from outside London? We apologise for making such a request through the impersonal medium of this circular, but hope participants will understand the difficulty of our approaching all individuals separately on this question. 9. We enclose address labels for your convenience, and appeal to all participants to keep closely in touch with us during the coming days. ) 0 ( 0 ) 0 ( In this bulletin we include some materials relating to the ideological affinity of the Juche Idea to the principles of Black Power. Participants will note that this selection is less comprehensive than the selection from James Connolly and the dear leader, but we hope it will provide some useful material for study and/or drafting messages or Seminar papers.
