(18 It is clear that those anti-imperialist organisations which most resolutely uphold their independence and resist incorporation into opportunist and factionalist establishments are • precisely those which achieve the deepest understanding of the oppressed communities which they lead. They are thus able to develop the most informed and constructive policies and means of struggle, closely based on the actual conditions and aspirations of those communities, thereby • releasing the creativity and initiative of the masses and enhancing their role as masters of revolution.
(19 * « Political work should be done in an original way by applying various forms and methods. This is creative work which is conducted under different conditions and circum- stances; it is work among the people at different levels and with different characteristics. Therefore, there cannot be a uniform formula or a set pattern in this work. It must be done in a way which is suitable to the actual situation with diverse forms and methods and in an effective and positive way. » [Applying this advice of Comrade Kim Jong Il to the oppressed national minority communities in Britain, it is obvious that the organisations of the 'British left' have so far failed to political conduct such work effectively. Only the organisations built by the oppressed peoples themselves have done so. Such anti-imperialist organisations have indeed given us concrete examples of how an independent stand enables them to achieve a broader unity in action than would otherwise have been possible in this country under present conditions.
(20) (circled) such example One is the success of the Stoke Newryton and Hackney Defence Campaign which, by its firm refusal to tolerate factionalism among its supporters, has brought together a wider spectrum of organisations (crossed out: nothing) to back its campaigns against political harrassment of black working-class youth by the racist British state than any of the supporting organisations (crossed out: separately) could have achieved (crossed out: separately) by themselves. (crossed out: Based on the fact that the Defence) Only because the Defence Campaign can be trusted by all the other organisations to uphold its own independence and (crossed out: therefore) they willingly accept the leadership that it (handwritten above: gives) (crossed out: provides). Should it lose its (handwritten above: Changing) the support would be (handwritten above: fragmented) (crossed out: provided). Similar proof is (crossed out: provided) by the success (red circled 'a' or 'alpha' symbol) of the Irish Republican Prisoners of War Campaign Committee in rallying growing support for its activities on the basis of an independent anti-imperialist stand. Only the Irish Republican Movement can fully understand (crossed out: the) the Irish community and has the authority to achieve
(21 Unity in action of the various Ireland Solidarity groups in this country under its own leadership. Despite the treacherous manoeuvres of the Although some "British left") English factionist groups, dismayed by their failure to establish themselve as dominant in the field of Ireland Solidarity work, the have enfeebled peevishly failed to attempted to undermine public support for events organised by the POW Campaign Committee, the latter has succeeded achieved growing success in this country in building a mass movement in Support of the Irish national liberation Struggle. uphold the independent Anti-imperialists in the oppressor nation must thus uphold the non-leading role of the organisations of the most oppressed. It is the latter which possess the most extensive day-to-day experience of anti-imperialist struggles, reflect in their most advanced forms, despite Grossade and exposed weaknesses, and they are most deeply and irrevocably committed to internationalism and to the defeat and destruction of imperialism.
" writes Comrade Kim Jong Il," "Today, the struggle to defend the masses' Chajusong assumes an international character. Since the forces of imperialism which oppress Chajusong are allied on an international scale, the struggle to oppose imperialist domi- nation and oppression and defend Chajusong, too, cannot but be an international undertaking. Because of the com- munity of their historical backgrounds and interests, the formerly oppressed nations and peoples who have been subjected to colonial slavery, with their independence and sovereignty downtrodden by imperialism, are united together on the same front of struggle to oppose imperialism and defend Chajusong." (22 As part of this struggle, anti-imperialists in the oppressor countries must uphold the absolute right of nationally oppressed Communities to fight for the aims, as they define them, of political and cultural independence from the dominant power structure. By (adopting) such an independent stand, the latter immeasurably enhance the power and effectiveness of their own struggles.
(23) Indeed, in the events of 1980 and 1981 the black youth who led the uprisings both demonstrated their total rejection of the decadent society in which they live and also made it [struck through: plain] [handwritten in red above: the dear leader] [red X] [black dot] that politically, in the words of Comrade [struck through: Kim Jong Il], they "bid farewell to the old generation [crossed-out f-like symbol] contaminated by flunkeyism and dogmatism, and greeted a new age Which advances on the principle of [black dot] Chajusong".
(24 The independent and creative methods (Developed the nationally oppressed communities in by fighting against the opportunist forces in the oppressor nation also shield them from the inevitable betrayals by the opportunists, (desperate) better in the face of the need destruction of the imperialist ruling class to liquidate the most revolutionary (which) forces stand in the way of its continued domination and exploitation of the oppressed nations and nations. world. In this way the organisations of the peoples who are in the forefront of the anti-imperialist struggle keep in their own hands the decisions regarding the strategic requirements of the revolutionary process and the political basis on which solidarity work (to be) is conducted.
(25 Significance To deny the stand of the of the independent fanti-imperialist organisations in the oppressor countries is, objectively, to serve the aims of the imperialist ruling classes. These organisations in fact play an immensely important role as revolutionary educators, as X the great leader X Comrade Kim Il Sung wrote with regard to the organisation of the Korean national minority in Japan, the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon):
(26 α "The teachers of Chongryon are training revolutionaries in the midst of a hopelessly corrupt capitalist society; the educational workers of Chongryon are fighting behind enemy lives. " independent stand To uphold the built by of the organisations of the most oppressed is therefore the ability to provide the basis for building a genuine anti-imperialist movement. on an international scale and solidarity in the imperialist heerlands. (and Irish Republican) xα Learning from the experience of Black Power/organisations and from the experience of Chongryon (the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan) Mosquito Press finaly upholds the absolute and inalienable right of national minority so-called all other anti-imperialist organisations of nations oppressed by British imperialism to organisational independence on 'British' soil, and opposes all attempts by any 'British xα left' forces to interfere in this independence or to attempt to subject national minorities here to any organisational or ideological pressure to subordinate their work to any allegedly more pressing demands of a 'British revolution'. Irish Republicans and Black people in this country know a lot more about the struggle against british imperialism than the 'British left', and it is for the latter to learn not to attempt to establish tutelage over them. and their organisations That is the vital lesson which the Juche Idea offers to revolutionaries in this country, both with regard to their own political outlook and to their α relations with the anti-imperialist organisations of the national minorities in their midst.
