Comrades and friends, brothers and Sisters, I must point out that Comrade Kim Il Sung is one of the greatest revolutionaries of our time. If we look at the world today we see that there are cross-currents which work to undermine the successes of the past, which work to undermine what has already been done by great revolutionaries. Now, in the situation in Korea you find that

2 its people are always consistent! American imperialism has always been working to destroy the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and destroy the socialist achievements in that country. But its people are not compromising! And we are really convinced, we are confident, • that their Juche philosophy - which stresses the importance of the right of self-determination, which stresses the importance of the right of self-reliance - is a message imparted to the masses so that they know what they are fighting • for. Some opportunist leaders in Africa have made it a point that people should not be taught an ideology which will always be a guiding light in all their actions. That is why we in Africa have

(3 a high regard for the Osagyefo President is present Kwame Nkrumah, whose son has attended proposed today, precisely because he made it a point that people should be taught not only African nationalism, as a liberatory Creed against oppression, but also socialism and democracy. And President Nkrumah was a lone voice, telling our people: Comrades, my fellow leaders, my colleagues! As long as you are not in control of the natural resources in your countries, this is neo-colonialism which we are experiencing; it is neo-colonialism, it is sham independence, it has no meaning whatsoever. Yes - you see an African president, an African judge, you see African soldiers or police; but the fact of the matter is: the man in the street is starving, the man in the street is a victim of diseases, the man in the street is unable to find shelter, the man in the street is not adequately dressed. And yet we boast of having independence!

5 Now, it is in the light of this that when we see philosophies such as Juche — which stipulate very, very clearly what independence is all about, and what the masses themselves can do — then I must honour a Seminer such as this one, precisely because it is • aimed at making people not to repeat mistakes which have been made previously. It is aimed at impartory knowledge to people about what is actually meant by ✓ independence. As you can read in the Juche philosophy, as formulated by Comrade Kim Jong Il: "The independent stand is a • thoroughly revolutionary stand... The working class is the most independent class which struggles to emancipate itself by its own initiative and to become the master of its own destiny." Comrades, we are very, very happy to be with you today; we are very, very happy to have been invited by Mosquito Press.

(6 These comrades of Mosquito Press are some of the very few comrades, in the white left in this country, who will support a liberation movement like the PAC without any conditions. They are convinced that the people of the PAC are fighting to regain their land and fighting to implement a socialist programme for a new society. • Those who are delivering blows against imperialism, in whatever country, are serving to advance the socialist cause. Because there is no doubt, comrades, that as the ✓ • Osagyefo said if Africa is united, if Africa is liberated and it implements a socialist programme, imperialism will be doomed! So, comrades, we are convinced that people who work consistently, who work honestly for the realisation of the ideas which are embodied in the Juche philosophy will be

(7 doing a great service to humanity. Because, undoubtedly, imperialism must be crushed if people are to live happy — and it is not invincible, comrades! There is always a lot which can be done to crush imperialists! And one should be very, very grateful that there are great leaders like Comrade Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il, people who are prepared • to give unconditional support to the struggle against imperialism. All causes of the downtrodden people, all causes of the people who are fighting oppression, whether they are a minority or whether they belong to a nation which is dispossessed of its land — all those causes must triumph! And an international socialist world must take it • upon itself to give full support to people who are struggling against injustice, against exploitation, against oppression. Thank you, comrades.
