- 2 - The Seventh Congress of AAPSO draws the urgent attention of people to: - The necessity for the strengthening of the struggle for elimination of the last vestiges of colonialism and racism; - The neo-colonial penetration which subverts true economic and political independence; - The continuing imperialist intervention and violations of sovereignty of countries and human rights; - The dangers emanating from racist and other discri- manatory policies; - The continuous plunder of resources and the increasing disparities in the distribution of global wealth and technology, resulting in mounting debts, worsening conditions of deprivation and hunger for vast areas of the world; - The recent dialogue between the USSRand USA to promote the process of peace, disarmament and resolution of regional conflicts. These define the priorities and the tasks of AAPSO which rely on enlightening and mobilising the peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America as a catalytic factor for progressive developments: - To actively involve people in the struggle for world peace and disarmament; - To fight for the complete elimination of colonialism, to racism, apartheid and zionism, and/support by all means the liberation movements;
