In order to save of the positive the valuable time of delegates I shall confine my remarks to just one example, of national conciliation. example, however, I believe to be very crucial, namely the Irish question of Ireland. In many ways the national liberation struggle of the Irish politically ideologically people acts as a bridge between the oppressed and independent struggles of the peoples of Asia, Africa & Latin America on the one hand, and the social and class struggles of the peoples of Europe on the other. In no respect is this clearer than in the way in which the Irish Republican Movement has creatively adapted the politics of national reconciliation to the circumstances prevailing in this country. Irish Republican Movement During the past year the political party, Sinn Fein, has advanced a programme under the name of 'national consensus' which calls for unity of all political forces organisations & individuals who support Ireland's reunification and independence, That call has been made to all parties, including the ruling party of the Dublin government, a party whose programme of mass support are based on its stated support for Irish reunification The call it made to all parties regardless of their differing views on strategy and tactics of struggle. from this The debate which resulted/during recent months Ireland's has enabled the revolutionary patriots greatly widen their audience to rank-and-file supporters of other parties who share this fundamental belief in Irish unity but who have long been isolated from the revolutionary struggle by their party leaderships.
