Speech of Hugh Stephens to Commission No. 1 (Disarmament), 7th Congress of AAPSO. It is a great priviledge to address this Commission on such an urgent matter as world disarmament, and so as to save the precious time of delegates, I shall confine myself to making just one point. ① This is that the struggle for nuclear-weapon-free zones is an element of the struggle for world peace that greatly enhances the potential role of the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America in the world peace process. This fact was clearly demonstrated by the excellent and constructive contribution made by delegates of these continents made by delegates to the historic recent Berlin International Meeting on Nuclear-Weapon- Free Zones.
