Erich Honecker singled out two themes in the comments he made at the Berlin Meeting: 1) That peace must cease to be discussed in general terms, and immediate matters. A practical importance must be undertaken. 2) That the fate of world peace will not be decided by a mere handful of states; all countries, great or small, strong or weak, can play a role in the struggle for a nuclear-free world. Taking the success of the Berlin International Meeting as a turning-point, is it not an essential task of AAPSO to collaborate with the World Peace Council and other relevant bodies to urgently assist in the exchange of experience, particularly in such complex fields as international law, drafting agreements and treaties, analysing strategic data, and so on.
